Photographing Bloom & Bean Coffee in Mount Pleasant, SC
Bloom and Bean in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Photographed by Golden Photos CHS, Designed by Studio Miles
I recently had the opportunity to photograph Bloom & Bean Coffee, a coffee shop beautifully designed by Studio Miles in Charleston, South Carolina. Spaces like this are always a favorite of mine to capture, where branding, interiors, and human experience all meet in a really intentional way.
As a Charleston-based interior and branding photographer, I’m always paying attention to how a space feels just as much as how it looks. Bloom & Bean has that balance… warm, inviting, and thoughtfully detailed without feeling overdone.
Approaching the Space
When I walked in, the light immediately set the tone. It was soft but directional, which meant we could lean into contrast and let certain areas fall off naturally rather than trying to brighten everything evenly.
With interiors like this, I’m not trying to document every corner, I’m trying to guide the eye.
We made a few subtle adjustments while shooting, focusing on simplifying certain areas and adding just enough detail where it felt needed. Small shifts - moving an object, refining a surface, adjusting composition, are usually what take an image from good to something that feels more intentional and editorial.
Capturing the Brand, Not Just the Space
What makes a shoot like this different from standard interior photography is the intention behind it.
Every image is created with the brand in mind:
how it will live on their website
how it will translate on social
how it helps someone understand the space before ever walking in
For Bloom & Bean Coffee, that meant capturing both the overall environment and the quieter details—the moments that make the space feel personal and recognizable.

Why This Matters for Small Businesses
Strong imagery does more than just “look nice.” It builds trust, sets the tone, and creates a consistent visual identity across every platform a business shows up on.
For coffee shops, retail spaces, and service-based brands, this kind of photography becomes part of the customer experience before they even arrive.
Working Together
If you’re a Charleston or Mount Pleasant business owner, interior designer, or brand looking for elevated, intentional imagery, I’d love to collaborate.
My approach is always hands-on and thoughtful, from how we style a space to how the final images support your brand long-term.
